I often tell people that as a Pastoral Counselor, I am picking up where dad and mom left off. That is, the number one thing that I do as a Pastor, Biblical Counselor, and Marriage Speaker is move people out of a feelings dominated controlled life and into a controlled by the Holy Spirit, Biblical principled driven life. In essence, I am teaching them what they failed to learn as a child.
Multitudes of parents and teachers have observed a bright child academically excel in school and spiritually in his faith for several years and then become mediocre and apathetic in junior and senior high school. More alarming is the weakening of spiritual desire in this same child at about the same stage of life.
I was asked to speak on “The Woman’s Role in the Home”. Let me say right off, I certainly don’t claim to “have arrived” in any of these areas.........the Lord is still chipping away at me. But I would like to share with you what the Lord has laid on my heart in this area of the “Keeper at Home”.
How many more years of life do you have? What are you going to do with them? Live in the past? Be bitter? Quit living? Make life miserable for everyone around you? Or – decide today that the rest of your days will be quality days?
I feel strongly led to speak today on the Subject of adultery. The subject should not even have to be discussed in a Christian environment according to the Bible. 1 Cor. 5:1 states that the sin of fornication of the type described, a stepson with a step mom, is "not so much as named among the gentiles."
General Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, once said he feared the day when the Salvation Army would have a salvation without regeneration, faith without repentance, and Heaven without Hell. He could have added “love without hate,” for it is impossible to have true love without hate.
